As the end of summer approaches and the very beginning of autumn arrives, I am reminded of a wonderfully atmospheric walk I took one morning from Newton Grange a few years ago in the first week of October.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The morning mist was sitting in the Home Meadow and the ground was covered in dew.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-rectangle wp-image-2794 img-rounded\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.newton-grange.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Morning-mist-800x480.jpg\" alt=\"Morning mist at Newton Grange\" width=\"540\" height=\"324\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As I walked along the Pennine Way footpath from the farm and over the hill towards Gargrave, the all familiar signpost was on the horizon, and the spectacular view that goes with it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-rectangle wp-image-2814 img-rounded\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.newton-grange.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/pennine-way-oct-2014-800x480.jpg\" alt=\"Walking the Pennine Way\" width=\"540\" height=\"324\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cows looked content, grazing in the fields and the sky was bright blue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-rectangle wp-image-2824 img-rounded\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.newton-grange.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Skies-800x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"324\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was a memorable day &#8211; such a crisp autumn morning for a refreshing walk over the hills, to breathe in the fresh air and to take stock of the day.
