I have heard it several times from returning guests and a friend who lives locally in Gargrave, the impact of travelling out of the town and the village to Bank Newton and how the stars hit you! There is very much less light pollution here at Newton Grange Farm, and in a similar way, this is the wide appeal of stargazing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park itself.
For a few years the National Park has promoted a Dark Skies Festival coinciding with February Half Term, and happily plans are forming for the Festival in 2021. Head’s up that the dates are 12th – 28th February 2021 and the schedule of events will be forming between now and then. It is worth keeping an eye out on the Yorkshire Dales and Dark Skies websites to find out more.
