What are your favourite books and films inspired by the landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales?
There are three books on my shelf that sprang to mind.
Gervase Phinn, Amanda Owen the Yorkshire Shepherdess, and the story of The Secret Garden.
My daughter and I recently enjoyed watching ‘The Secret Garden’ (filmed in Yorkshire) at the sumptuously comfortable Ilkley Cinema.
I always think that reading the book first is key though, how about you?

Finding time to read is one way I have found to really invest in my own wellbeing. It’s an old saying, that you can learn so much from books, but I think it’s as true as ever. Reading stories can stimulate our imagination and transport us in to another world, helping us to tune out of our everyday and give us the kind of ‘pause’ and switch-off that we may need.
